Police have busted what they believe is another drug dealer after swooping on a house in Alfred Street yesterday and arresting a 52-year-old Tamworth man.
Dubbo police, some clad in protective vests, battered down the door of the suspected drug house at about 12.20pm yesterday. They seized what they suspect is an amount of amphetamines and cash.
The drug raid came after police received vital information from the public.
It’s the latest in a series of drug busts as Dubbo police crackdown on drug supply in the city, and in Narromine.
Police executed a similar search warrant earlier this week.
Acting crime manager, Detective Sergeant Mark Meredith issued a blunt warning to dealers, saying drug dealers or users, or anyone involved with the supply or possession of illicit drugs “will have interaction with the police”.
The Tamworth man was taken into custody, pulling his T-shirt over his head as detectives walked him out of the house. He was charged with supplying and possessing a prohibited drug, and was conditionally bailed to appear in Dubbo Local Court on July 9.
Police seized an undisclosed amount of white powder at the house.
“We believe it to be amphetamine,” Det Sgt Meredith said. “An amount of cash and drug paraphernalia were also seized.
“This is another significant arrest for Dubbo.
“The message continues to be a simple one - if you are involved in the possession or supply of illicit drugs in the community, you will be interacting with the police.”
Det Sgt Meredith made it clear that raids such as yesterday came after people had told police where drugs were being manufactured or sold.
“It’s important to say this, we are reacting and responding to information from the public,” he said.
