Big Brother 08 winner Terri has the support of Dubbo contestants Dixie and Renee, despite allocating Renee the points that got her evicted.
The 52-year-old grandmother took out the last season of the reality TV series that ran for eight years, beating bricklayer Rory and law student Ben to take home $250,000.
While the Big Brother curtain has closed for viewers, contestants are still reeling from its after-effects after an adrenalin-fuelled final night on Monday.
“It was everything,” Renee said. “Every emotion you’re feeling - times it by a million.”
Both Dubbo girls were quick to throw their support behind Terri, with Dixie confessing that she had been furiously texting to evict Ben.
“I’m so glad she won,” she said. “She really deserved it, she’s worked hard her whole life and been a single mum so this has been fantastic for her.”
Renee conceded that she did not get along with Terri in the house but was still barracking for the show’s oldest ever contestant.
“I wanted her to win, all of us are young and can keep earning our money,” she said.
Both said it was sad that the series has finally come to an end, even though neither were big fans before they became stars.
“To be honest, it doesn’t phase me too much - I used to watch the show every now and then but I wasn’t a massive fan,” Dixie said.
“I do realise it has been a big part of Australian television for the past eight years.”
Renee said her life was far too “active” to watch the show religiously.
While Dixie said the show didn’t change her personally, Renee said it did “heaps” by giving her insight into the outside world.
“I was living in a bubble, I knew nothing,” she said.
“I won a trip to New York City, so I think I’ll be getting the travel bug soon.”
Both girls agreed they would relive the Big Brother experience and have benefited from the show, either personally or career-wise.
For Dixie, it was very personally.
“I have a boyfriend now,” she said.
