ORIENTEERING: Charles Sturt University and Dubbo Senior College generously made their respective campuses available for the latest Western Plains Orienteers event at the weekend.

Both young and more experienced orienteers took the opportunity to hone their skills in preparation for championship and league events taking place later this year and next year.

“Dubbo schools will be represented for the first time at the NSW Schools Orienteering Championships in August,” Karen Hagan of the Western Plains Orienteers said.

“We will also have more experienced orienteers from the club looking forward to competing at league events next month, and at the World Masters Orienteering Championships next year.”

The World Masters Orienteering Championships will be held in Sydney and Lithgow in October 2009.

This prestigious event is expected to attract well over 1000 competitors from Australia and abroad.

More information about orienteering can be obtained from Karen Hagan email: info@westernplainsorienteers.org
