The Sydney 2009 World Masters Games Roadshow finished up in Dubbo on Wednesday.

The visit was the conclusion of its journey through the central west region as part of a program to encourage local people to participate in the world’s largest multi-sport event.

The Sydney 2009 World Masters Games Roadshow visited Dubbo RSL Memorial Club, with the ClubsNSW venue hosting a free public information session in its conference theatre.

ClubsNSW, which represents 1400 member clubs throughout the State, is a major partner of the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games.

The event was open to people of all abilities and most ages, the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games offer an unprecedented chance for local residents who have dreamed of participating in a major international sports event to realise their sporting fantasy.

Group manager of marketing, sales and communications Rod Dowler said the World Masters Games represented a once-a-lifetime opportunity for local people, irrespective of their sporting proficiency, to have an Olympic-style experience with Olympic venues staging many of the 28 sports competitions.

“Not everyone can go to the Olympic Games but everyone, regardless of their ability, can go to the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games provided they meet the minimum age criterion, which is 35 years or lower for all of the sports,” Dowler said.

Games registrations are open at www.2009worldmasters.com.
