SHOOTING: Apart from changing light, conditions were ideal for Dubbo Clay Target Club’s Sunday competition which resulted in some good scores across all grades.

Club secretary Errol Tucker with son Scott, Andrew Murphy, Peter Brown, Shane Bennett and Ken Fuller all recorded perfect scores in the 20-target double-barrel eye-opener.

A special 50-target double-barrel championship followed with Narromine’s Bob Agnew and Dubbo club handicapper Ken Fuller tied on 49/50 forcing a shoot-off for the overall badge and trophy.

Marcus Bruce and Brian Greenaway were also tied on 48/50 in B grade while Andrew Murphy and David Funt both on 47/50 in C grade joined the squad to continue the event for a decision.

The C graders were the first to retire with Funt taking the trophy with 58/61 from Murphy just one point behind. Brian Greenaway went to 61/63 to collect B grade from Bruce on 60/63.

Outright winner in A grade was Geoff Luck with 48/50 while Bob Agnew collected the overall trophy with 65/66 - Ken Fuller won AA grade with 64/66.

A 30-target handicap event wound up the afternoon with club treasurer Les Clarke and Marcus Bruce tied on 29/30. A shoot-off decided the winner to be Clarke with a great score of 33/34.

Bruce collected second place with 32/34 and Brian Greenaway third on 28/30. Fourth places were shared by Andrew Murphy, club captain Ross Hill, Bob Agnew, Errol Tucker and Scott Tucker - all on 27/30.

The day’s High Gun was awarded to Marcus Bruce with an excellent score of 96/100.

The previous weekend’s wind and light changes made the skeet competition conditions tricky.

Chris Everett took out the 25-target eye-opener with 24/25 from Shane Bennett, club president Kyle Walton and Ken Fuller all on 23/25.

The championship event of 50 challenging skeet doubles saw Shane Bennett and Chris Everett tied on 40/50. Shane won overall after a shoot-off and Everett collected his trophy in C grade. Errol Tucker won B grade with 39/50, John Sidoti and Ken Fuller were tied on 38/50. Dave Allen collected second in C grade with 30/50.

In the 25-target handicap event, Shane Bennett and Errol Tucker were tied on 23/25 and the day’s skeet High Gun award went to Shane Bennett with 86/100.
