Big number expected for charity event

10/09/2008 11:04:00 AM
Big numbers are expected for Sunday’s sixth annual Westhaven charity day.

The two-person ambrose event is open for all golfers with an AGU handicap but social players will be welcome and given a handicap.

The $25 per person entry fee includes a smorgasbord lunch between 11.30am and 2.30pm.

Two tee times have been organised from 7am to 9am and 10am to 12pm for afternoon players.

Proceeds will be used to assist with the purchase of furniture and equipment for the proposed Westhaven High Support Accommodation Units.

Tournament co-ordinator Louise Thompson is hoping for a successful day with good patronage from players.

“Last year more than 160 players took part and with the support of Dubbo business houses and the community we raised just under $10,000, which was an outstanding achievement,” she said.

“Thanks to our wonderful sponsors we have some great prizes again this time with gift vouchers for the first four teams of two.

“There is also a great raffle operating with a massive 25 prizes, ranging from a Myer gift pack valued at $300 down the line.

“The tickets at $2 each or three for $5 and they are selling well. The raffle will be drawn on Sunday at presentations.”

Tee times can be organised by ringing the Dubbo pro shop staff on 6882 2201.
