The sun was shining over Dubbo golf course yesterday and the local competitors were on fire as day three of the Veterans Golf Championships were contested.
Dubbo’s Grahame Marchant and Darrell Moore were in form on course yesterday, pulling in the top scores for A and B grade, both with 41.
Max Glanville, from Long Reef, scored the best in C grade with 38.
Event organiser John Dixon said yesterday was yet another successful day for the tournament and conditions were perfect for playing.
“We were most grateful to Dubbo Golf Club for allowing us to move Tuesday’s play to Wednesday due to the rain that fell on Tuesday, they have been most accommodating,” Dixon said.
“We had wonderful weather for golf today and the course played very well.”
Dixon said while conditions were great for golf, competitors struggled to break their handicaps.
“The fine conditions didn’t really reflect the scores of today’s play, but everyone had a wonderful time.”
Dixon said as the competition continued the popularity of Dubbo and its course was growing among players.
